AGC/GVS Grant Program
American Gynecological Club / Gynaecological Visiting Society Fellowship
Through generosity of the American Gynecological Club and the Gynaecological Visiting Society of Great Britain, the RCOG is able to offer up to £2,000 Travel Grant to an individual to visit and gain knowledge from a specific centre offering new techniques of clinical management within O&G. This is a reciprocal rotational program in which a UK-based physician is selected in an even year to visit the United States, and a US-based physician is selected in an odd year to visit the United Kingdom.
Award
Up to £2,000 (payable in USD for U.S. applicants).
Note: This award will be given in the form of an unrestricted educational grant. The grant recipient will be responsible for any associated tax liability and accounting.
Eligibility
This award is open to obstetrical and gynecological doctors in training in the UK and Republic of Ireland and their equivalents in the USA. Applicants must be residents or fellows in an accredited training program within the United States.
Conditions/Permitted Uses of Funds
Travel and use of the grant funds must take place within 12 months of the award being made. The award may only be used for the purpose outlined in the application.
Application Deadline
Application deadline is October 31, 2024 for travel in 2025.
How to Apply
Applicants must submit the following materials:
- A Personal Statement of Interest and Description of the UK travel to take place.
- Curriculum Vitae.
- Letter of support from the hosting institution(s).

Selection Criteria
Applications will be assessed and scored on the following criteria:
- Strength of Personal Statement, Program details and originality of proposal.
- The extent to which the applicant is or may indicate involvement in the OBGYN community.
- Letter of support confirming the placement from the host institution confirming supervision and support.
Reporting
A detailed report (maximum 1000 words), must be submitted to AGC within eight weeks after the visit.
